I’m currently preparing for the trip up to Charlotte, NC with a ragtag group of fellow students from Mississippi State University for the 2007 Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. It should be a lot of fun, although it’s really hard to prepare for this sort of thing. I’ll be sure and post my impressions of the competition once we’re back.
We’ll be leaving tomorrow morning, so the blog may be updated sporadically or not at all until I get settled back in here on Monday. Depends on the availability of network access and the sort of content I can cook up
.
So lacking anything important to say today, I figured I’d dig into my RSS reader of choice (Liferea) and talk about some sites’ feeds you should be subscribing to besides mine
.
- Darknet – Various bits of security news
- F-Secure: News from the Lab – Excellent source of insight into malware
- Internet Storm Center – You’re probably already reading this one, but if you’re not, the handlers make some very interesting posts.
- milw0rm – Publishes exploits as they are released publicly.
- Professional Security Testers – Good general news
- Schneier on Security – Bruce Schneier’s take on security news and squid.
- Security Catalyst – “The Bald Security Expert”‘s views on things. Also some podcasting.
- SecurityFocus – Their “news” feed covers all of their articles as well, it seems.
And some iPod-fodder for those who enjoy podcasts:
- BinRev – Mostly rambling, but entertaining rambling
- CyberSpeak – A favorite of mine, mostly about computer forensics
- Hacker Voice Radio – Funny stuff
- Network Security – Martin McKeay, always interesting news and opinion.
- PaulDotCom Security Weekly – My absolute favorite. If you don’t pay attention to any of these other links, hit these guys up. Very entertaining, very informative.
- SecThis – More news and opinion
- SploitCast – Very entertaining when they get around to recording.
- Today With A Techie – Good intro material on some topics, others not so much
. Varying audio quality (I didn’t know microphones worked underwater).
There you have it. Make your RSS reader earn its keep.

Paul.com
lol, apparently I like pauldotcom so much I pasted the url for it into two entries of the podcast list
Thanks for the mention… and kick some ass (or perhaps defend some ass) this week. I look forward to learning how it turned out.
Thanks for the mention
