Regarding the 'minimal movement' method, take a look at this thread: http://www.bumpkeyforum.com/showthread.php?t=929

they go into pretty good detail about what the 'minimal movement' technique is.

You're absolutely right! It's a result of it being one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time: I've listened to it more than I've watched it :)

I don't want to be a dick here, but they were playing "One Love" by The Prodigy. Actually, there were two songs by The Prodigy on the soundtrack; "Voodoo People" was for the battle between the hackers and the Secret Service agent.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I have considered it, however, I decided that if I'm going to write about something, I'm most likely going to put it here in the blog, or in the projects section of this site.

2600 wants to be the first to publish an article, so rather than wait around for them to publish, I'd rather just go ahead and put material on here so people can read it immediately. This way, Google indexes it too, and I get folks who are looking for answers or information turned on to this site. I also much prefer "Wesley McGrew has a writeup on suchandsuch and you can read it at his site here:" to "...and you're just going to have to pick up the latest 2600 to read it."

Great reviews of the articles having read them now. Have you considered writing an article for 2600? I'm sure it would be a great read and would create one less article to critique : )

Lol, almost feels like I read it already! But I, too, need to wait for it to appear on bookstore shelves to pick it up. I personally don't care as much for the political inclinations, either, as much as I do the technical stuff. But hey, like you say, that's what makes 2600, I guess. *shrug*

I swear someone in the past year has written before about the sad and sorry state of Target retail systems...really, I swear that occurred, maybe in the last 2 years...I'll have to check...but it definitely is a distinct deja-vu moment.

I really wish they (authors) would do away with silly disclaimers. First of all, most of them use psuedonyms anyway, so not like they can be blamed directly for much. Second, props to any author that does a one line, less-than 10 word disclaimer and then moves on. I HATE seeing a 2 paragraph disclaimer, and then a reminder at the end about how something may get someone in trouble. Ugh...

Under "Designing a Hacker Challenge" I think you meant to paraphrase the author as saying you should *not* break laws for personal gain? If so, and you correct it, feel free to edit this out of my comment if you want. :) I like these posts of yours, and encourage more in the future!
